benefitexpress currently has an opening for a Desktop Support Specialist at our corporate headquarters in Schaumburg, Illinois.  The Desktop Support Specialist provides technical assistance and support for issues of computer systems, software, and hardware in an enterprise network.  This position requires you to apply your critical thinking skills to resolve issues for the end users.  You will identify, troubleshoot, resolve, and document user system issues.  Still interested?  Keep reading...

What you will do:

  • Maintain daily performance of computer systems
  • Create and resolve help desk tickets
  • Install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software
  • Create accounts and configure hardware/software as part of on-boarding process
  • Monitor and manage internal assets to ensure accurate inventory records
  • Resolve technical problems with Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and other systems

What you will need:

  • Associates Degree in related field and/or
  • 2 - 3 years of Technical Support experience working with machines in a domain
  • Experience troubleshooting in:
    • Microsoft Office 2010/2013/365 (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
    • Windows Client and Server Operating Systems
    • Active Directory and user account changes
    • Basic IPv4 Networking Principals
  • A+ / Network+ / Microsoft Certifications MCSA certifications, a plus
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
